Sophie Mei's Launch - Egyptian Elegance

After an outstanding year of national media, regional and local coverage from her bellydance success on Britain's Got Talent, Sophie Mei decided to use the year anniversary to host a launch event for the new ‘Sophie Mei’ business, raising her profile as a presenter, actress, model and dancer.

Here is Sophie’s account of how it all went….

“I met Jennie from Hansley Beard at a business networking event and we instantly clicked as we shared the same enthusiasm for uniquely styled events with top quality entertainment. I knew that Jennie could help me create something of a high standard with a truly authentic feel. So, it wasn’t long before Jennie and I started working together on my launch event called ‘Egyptian Elegance’. It was my hope in pursuing my hobby, and now career, in bellydance and performance, to be loyal to Egyptian heritage and I was hugely impressed with Jennie's excellent attention to detail and ability to research the style and theme of the event, drawing on her experience and skills in archaeology.

Although Jennie focused on the decoration, design and set up of the event, she was extremely organised in also helping me with the overall planning of the event.

The event was held at the Showroom cinema in Sheffield and consisted of welcome drinks in the Arabic-styled lounge, a cinema screening of the documentary I filmed in Egypt for Yorkshire TV 'From Pitsmoor to the Pyramids,' and a huge after party to celebrate the launch of my new website.

The atmosphere was electric and buzzing as traditional Arabic food was served. The low lighting and whole style of event was truly elegant and Egyptian.

The night was featured on Yorkshire TV, BBC Radio Sheffield, BBC Radio Leeds, Sheffield Live and in local press - The Star, Sheffield Telegraph, Exposed magazine, Business Monthly, FFB (First for Business) magazine, to name but a few ...
